We no longer undertake any tree contracting work. This ensures no conflict of interest when we recommend tree work as arboricultural consultants.

John is now a full time arboricultural consultant but also manages to cram in recreational tree climbing instruction at the weekends. His qualifications and relevant experience are as follows

Arboricultural qualifications

Royal Forestry Certificate in Arboriculture.
Arboricultural Association Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture.
Lantra approved professional tree inspector.
Completion of Trees and Mortgage/Insurance reporting module and member of AMIUG.
Member of CAS (Consulting Arborist Society)

Construction qualifications

ONC in building studies.
HNC in building studies.

Climbing qualifications

NPTC tree climbing and aerial rescue
Completion of rock climbing SPA (Single Pitch Award) training.

Relevant Experience

Qualifying as a quantity surveyor for a major construction company after five years of multidisciplinary training with land surveyors, planners, structural engineers, services engineers, architects and project managers.
Owning and managing a tree surgery firm for twelve years.
Regularly attending courses and seminars on tree and woodland surveys, report writing, subsidence, BS5837, sustainable construction etc.
Carrying out a diverse range of arboricultural consultancy services since 2001.
Attending court as an arboricultural expert witness on two occasions.
